Whanganui Police seek car involved in hit and run

A man is in a critical condition in Wellington Hospital following a hit and run in Whanganui early this morning. 
 
The man was hit by a car in Anzac Parade at around 2.15 this morning.  He has serious head injuries and was airlifted to Wellington Hospital this morning, after initially being taken to Whanganui Hospital. 
 
The car is described as a later-model, dark blue BMW. It left the scene immediately after hitting the man.  
 
The car may be missing a wind-screen wiper and the front, right headlight is possibly damaged. 
 
Police would like to hear from anyone who is able to identify the car or driver, or any witnesses to the incident who have not yet been spoken to.
