Woman arrested following Opotiki stabbing

At approximately 3.00am this morning (Wednesday 2 November 2016) Police were called to a family harm related incident at an address in Opotiki where a 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed a number of times with a knife.

The man was subsequently taken by ambulance to Whakatane Hospital where he was treated for multiple stab wounds. He remains in a stable condition.

A 25-year-old female has been arrested and charged with Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm in relation to this incident.

Police investigations are ongoing.

As the matter is now before the Courts Police is unable to comment further.
