Another group of Hawke’s Bay students are a step closer to driving independently after successfully gaining their learner driver licence during an on-campus learning opportunity.

Napier School Community Officer Senior Constable Mark Johnson, VTNZ and the Taradale High School careers advisors joined forces to work with students.

The on-site sessions make the licencing process simple and accessible, allowing students to complete the entire process at school.

From the eyesight test and ID photo to completing the required paperwork and sitting the online theory test, everything is done at the school. Students who are successful are even issued with a temporary learner driver licence on the day.

Providing these opportunities helps remove barriers and gives students the confidence and independence that comes with taking the first step towards becoming a licenced driver.
