The incident was reported to emergency services around 5.05pm.

Wellington Urban Motorway is currently blocked heading southbound following a crash.

The single vehicle crash near the Aotea Quay off-ramp was reported just before 2:10pm.

Police are assisting Fire and Emergency New Zealand with traffic control at the scene of a fire on SH1 in Blenheim, near Alabama Road.

Police were called about 6.45am.
