Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Opiki Road and SH57, Shannon.
Police were called about 3.10pm.
Initial indications suggest there have been serious injuries.
The road will be closed, with diversions in place.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
