Emergency services are attending a serious crash that has blocked the southbound lane of State Highway 1 at Tawa.
The crash, involving a car and truck, happened about 8.10pm, between Transmission Gully and the Tawa-Grenada North off-ramp.
One person is in a critical condition, and the Serious Crash Unit will be carrying out a scene examination.
Traffic management is being put in place and southbound motorists are urged to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
