The Halswell Junction Road roundabout, near the Christchurch Southern Motorway, in Hornby is closed following a serious crash this morning.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at the roundabout, near Richmond Avenue, around 6.30am.
One person has been transported to hospital in critical condition.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and the roundabout is expected to be closed for some time while emergency services work at the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays.
