Search for plane wreckage continues

1 min read

The search for the wreckage of the missing Cessna plane near Leithfield Beach continues this morning.

Senior Constable Rob IRVINE from Amberley says that Police 4 Wheel drive vehicles will be making searches of the shoreline.

"We'll be out after high tide this morning and later today," he says. "I'd also ask any member of the public who finds any pieces of the plane to contact police directly so we can retrieve it."

Mr Irvine says that there has been an excellent response from the public re sightings of the aircraft on Sunday afternoon.

The post mortem on the two bodies discovered on Leithfield Beach yesterday is taking place this morning and formal identification will take place after that.

Names will be released as soon as police have formal identification and have been notified that next of kin have been advised.
