Police continue to investigate robbery in Palmerston North last night

Police continue to investigate a robbery that occurred last night at a store on Rangiora Ave in Roslyn, Palmerston North.

It has now been established approximately six offenders entered the store just after 6:00pm.

The offenders were armed with imitation firearms and a baseball bat.

It is believed they were young men, possibly youths.

A shop assistant and a member of the public were in the store at the time.

The offenders have assaulted the staff member and left with an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes.

The victim is being supported by Police and his family. Police intend to interview him today.

As well as speaking to people in the area, Police are also working with the member of the public who was in the store at the time, who was uninjured in the incident.

A scene examination will take place today and Police will be reviewing CCTV footage.

In addition to this, Police will be conducting extra patrols in the area.

Police takes incidents of this nature very seriously and we are committed to holding the offenders responsible.
