Police pleased with behaviour at Waitangi celebrations

1 min read

Please attribute to Superintendent Tony Hill, Northland District Commander:

Police are pleased with the behaviour of the crowds attending today's Waitangi celebrations.

Large numbers of people attended Waitangi, including the dawn service and other activities around the treaty grounds.

Superintendent Tony Hill says the atmosphere was relaxed throughout the day.

"Our role was working with local Iwi to ensure the public's safety, so it was great to see whānau enjoying their day at Waitangi," Superintendent Hill says.

There were no major issues for Police and no arrests were made.
