A search and rescue operation is continuing at Waihi Beach today.
Police were called around 5:40pm yesterday following reports a man entered the water in a kayak earlier that day, and had not been seen since.
The search operation ran through the evening, and included assistance from the Police Eagle helicopter.
Search and Rescue team are again in the area today and will continue the search for both the man and the kayak.
The kayak is described to be blue with black and white mottled (camo) colour, and is a single seated sit-on-top vessel.
