Gangs Order 2025

The Cabinet paper Gangs (Identified Gangs) Order 2025 sought Cabinet authorisation to submit the Gangs (Identified Gangs) Order 2025 to the Executive Council. The Order added the “Immortal Souls MC” to, and removed the “Road Knights MC” from the list of identified gangs in the Gangs Act 2024 on 8 December 2025. The Gangs Act applies to groups listed as identified gangs providing for:

  • prohibition on the display of gang insignia in public places
  • the issue of dispersal notices to stop gang members from gathering in public places; and
  • the making of non-consorting orders to prevent specified gang.

Key sections of the Official Information Act under which information has been withheld

No information in the documents has been withheld under one or more of the sections of the Official Information Act 1982. There was no consultation on release as there was no agency feedback at the time the paper was consulted.
