Canterbury Police District aims to lead the way in being an effectively resourced, flexible and responsive Police service for New Zealand.

This consultation document aims to place appropriate resourcing to demand and provide increased 24/7 coverage whilst maintaining a policing presence in our rural communities. With significant increases to our frontline, we will be a highly visible and adaptive police service, responding to core policing demand and continuing to achieve safer communities, roads and homes.

This report outlines the findings from the Family Harm co-response teams pilot conducted during 2023-24 in Counties Manukau in partnership with 12 social support agencies.

The report clearly identifies why trust and confidence is important for increased reporting of family harm episodes and recognises how working with partners is critical for improving services for victims.
