Proactive release of papers relating to the Petition of Hakepa of the Te Wahine Ora o Hakepa Foundation

This Cabinet paper, Government response to the Petition of Hakepa of the Te Wahine Ora o Hakepa Foundation on Uniformed sworn Police officers to wear a body camera, was drafted in response to the Petition of Hakepa, which was referred to the Minister of Police by the Petitions Committee.

The Petition requests that all uniformed sworn Police officers be required to wear body-worn cameras through an amendment to the Policing Act 2008.
