Manawatū SAR Squad recently hosted their annual SAREX training exercise in the Hardings Park area of Palmerston North, which has been a hotspot over the past year with several rescues for injured and lost hikers. It was a joint operation with about 50 volunteers from Palmerston North and Horowhenua LandSAR groups and AREC (amateur radio).
