Child Sex Offender Register Evaluation

Child Sex Offender Register Evaluation

Date Published:
August 2022

As part of the work conducted to establish the New Zealand Child Sex Offender Register, it was proposed by Cabinet in 2014 that the first three operational years of the Register and risk management framework be evaluated with the initial findings reported back to Cabinet.

The first three operational years of the Register, and its risk management framework (RMF), were evaluated (October 2016 to October 2019). The evaluation sought to consider whether appropriate arrangements were in place to enable achievement of the objectives of the Register and RMF, provided insight into where enhancements could be made, and report on progress to develop a method for an outcome evaluation that would examine the impact of the Register and RMF.
