  1. I found a report on the number of homicides in New Zealand between 2007 and 2014, and I was wondering if there are any reports that go back further – I am trying to determine a trend of firearm homicides and would like to go back a little further than 2007.
  2. I understand that NZ Customs has created a report on 3D printing and the threat that that poses, and I was wondering if NZ Police had anything similar.

  2. How many licensed firearm owners in [each of the twelve Police districts] were convicted of a breach of the Arms Amendment Bill discovered during a random check in the last year of record?
  3. How many licensed firearms owners in [each of the twelve Police districts] were convicted of a breach of the Arms Amendment Bill discovered during their ten yearly renewal in the last year of record?

  1. Please provide a copy of the current police policy that dictates or demands districts obtain serial numbers for firearm purchases via the section 43A mail order?
  2. Garth's emails state that Districts have been instructed to obtain serial numbers for mail orders. Is this true?
  3. Please provide reference to any relevant legislation that states a seller or buyer must provide a serial number for a section 43A mail order of a firearm.
  4. Please provide the Name and QID and rank of the officer at PNHQ who was instructed that arms officers are to obtain serial numbers for firearm purchases via section 43A mail order and any records of this.
  5. Again Garth's emails state that Districts have been advised to, if so, who has advised them of this?
  6. Please provide any and all policy documents, in addition to the guidelines set out in the police Arms Manual 2002, that police staff use when completing a section 43A mail order request from a firearms licence holder.

  1. Statistics of crimes in the past 10 years involving a firearm in which the firearm was used in an offensive manger (ie: Armed robbery, threatening, etc) by firearms license holders.
  2. Provide the same statistics criteria, but by people possessing the arms without ever having had a license.
  3. Comment in regards to the US’s approach to firearm ownership with the 2nd Amendment.
