Witnesses have been able to help Police create the beginnings of a timeline that documents the events surrounding the death of David McNee.
"The timeline is a basic outline at the moment and so we continue to appeal to Aucklanders to call us if they can help fill in the gaps", said Inquiry Head, Detective Senior Sergeant Lance Burdett.
The timeline begins with one of the last confirmed sightings of Mr McNee alive.
This was between 11 and noon on Sunday the 20th of July by one of his Hackett Street neighbours.
At 3.15 that afternoon his Audi was still parked in his driveway.
At 3.24 money was withdrawn from his account at the National Bank in Ponsonby.
At 3.30pm he made a call to a family member. This is the last time that Mr McNee was known to be alive.
Between 4.30-5pm a young man was seen acting suspiciously in Hackett Street.
At 9am the following morning his garage door was up and his Audi was gone.
Sometime after Sunday afternoon and before Tuesday night his car was seen in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe.
Around 10pm on Tuesday Police located his Audi in Bowen Ave, Central Auckland.
"We are very keen for anyone who may have even the smallest piece of information to come forward... they can ring the Operation Hound designated phone number, 359-3115 and leave a message if we don’t answer".
