Police look for witnesses to Aggravated Robbery

1 min read

North Shore Police believe two people could help in the investigation of an aggravated robbery at Charlie’s Bar in Milford, Sunday, January 25th.

At about 9:10pm, a man walked into the bar using the back door. He then confronted patrons and one staff member with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol.

The offender then demanded that the bar manger opened a safe behind the bar. The manager did what he was told and placed a moderate amount of cash in a brown leather bag, being carried by the offender. The offender then escaped using the back door and couldn’t be located.

He was wearing a balaclava at the time of the robbery, had a stocky build and was approximately 175-180 centimetres tall.

Two patrons left the bar before Police arrived and they could be potential witnesses.

Both were described as caucasians in their early forties. The male had a large build and was wearing a tan polo shirt and brown shorts. The female had blonde hair to her shoulder and was wearing a tan top.

Police would like to talk to either of these people. They can contact Detective Dean Blakemore at the Takapuna Police Station, 488 6209.
