Undercover matters viewed with concern

1 min read

Police Commissioner Rob Robinson views the matters raised on the Holmes programme tonight with concern.

As the Attorney General has indicated these matters go back over a number of years. There have been settlements with some former undercover officers and a number of other cases are with the High Court for determination. Those matters need to be concluded as soon as possible.

The undercover programme itself has been the subject of professional review on a number of occasions.

“Careful consideration is required of the matters canvassed in tonight’s television programme and I will be taking advice on this,” said Mr Robinson.

If it is determined that any of these matters require further external review then the Commissioner said he would pledge the full cooperation of Police.
