Witnesses to road rage wanted

Police are seeking witnesses to a road rage incident on Barbados Street in the central city, on Sunday the 18th of April 2004 at approximately 5.00pm.

A cyclist has been involved in a traffic incident with a motor vehicle. This vehicle has then followed the cyclist down Barbados Street and mounted a footpath and appeared to deliberately run into him. The cyclist was thrown from his bike and suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle has then got out of his car and confronted the cyclist.

Numerous persons stopped to assist the cyclist and the Police would like to hear from these persons or anyone else who observed the incident.

The vehicle involved was a late model white Toyota hatchback with yellow writing down the side. The driver was described as a male Caucasian of solid build with short grey hair aged in his late forties.
