Police seek woman who may have had regular contact with a man who has been found dead

1 min read

Newmarket police are asking a woman to come forward who may have had regular contact with a man who was found dead two weeks ago.

The asian man died at the Newmarket Railway Station in the early hours of Sunday morning the 8th of August.

Despite exhaustive police inquiries and the media publishing a photo of the man he still hasn’t been identified.

Police believe it’s possible the man was regularly seen with a middle aged asian woman walking around Newmarket in the 2-3 months before his death.

"Obviously we would like that woman to come forward in the hope she could help us identify him" said CIU Constable, Grant Harris.

Police have also released another photograph of the man today that shows a distinctive mark or mole beside the man’s left eye.

When he was found he was wearing navy blue dress trousers, a grey hooded Mambo sweatshirt, a pair of red and grey sports shoes and a Citizen Eco-Drive watch.

He had in his possession a Gerber Tool (like a Leatherman), NZ $7.60 and Hong Kong $8 in currency.
