Christchurch missing woman inquiry

1 min read

Christchurch police are satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Christchurch woman, Carla Scott.

A body, that police believe is Carla Scott, 26, was found at the Punchbowl, near Arthurs Pass yesterday. She had been missing from Christchurch since Tuesday October 5. Her car was found in the carpark at the Punchbowl.

Senior Sergeant Stewart Munro said that her death would be referred to the Coroner.

The body has not yet been formally identified, but police said they are quite sure it is that of Carla Scott.

Trampers found the body yesterday in an area that had been searched by police.

However she had been submerged in water.

Senior Sergeant Munro said the hunt for Carla Scott had been a major search operation for Christchurch police. "We have also had a large-scale investigation working alongside the search," he said.

Yesterday he thanked the many people who had come forward with information during the investigation.
