Police would like to locate missing elderly woman

1 min read

A 72 year old woman has been missing from her home at Pt Chevalier in Auckland since Thursday and police would like to locate her.

Vai Losetau Muaiki was last seen by her family on Thursday morning.

"It is usual that Mrs Muaiki goes for a walk but she’s recently had a fall and that has contributed to some memory loss, so she may be disorientated", said Sergeant Scott Leonard.

Mrs Muaiki walks around the Pt Chevalier area and often along the walking tracks beside the North Western Motorway.

She is described as a Pacific Island woman, about 5 ft 2" tall with short, thick partly greying hair.

She was wearing navy trackpants, a green sweatshirt, navy shoes and a distinctive black velvet soft hat with a rolled rim all the way around it.

"If anyone has seen Mrs Muaiki over the last two days, or believe they might know where she is please call Ponsonby Police".
