Bush search after information received about Iraena Asher

1 min read

Police Search and Rescue are searching the bush area between Karekare and Piha after information was received regarding the disappearance of Iraena Asher.

Head of Search and Rescue Sergeant Dene Duthie says the accuracy and reliability of the information is being further investigated after an anonymous call to a media organisation.

Sergeant Duthie says the informant should have come to police directly so as much information as possible could be gathered for search and rescue purposes.

"It would be disappointing if the information is not factual as a large amount of police resources are being used as a result of the call," Mr Duthie says.
