Mystery woman runner in critical care

A 30 to 40 year-old woman is in the critical care unit of Auckland Hospital after being found unconscious on Tamaki Drive at about 10.30 this morning.

The woman, described as a Caucasian, about 5'6'' tall of medium build with dyed, wavy, shoulder-length auburn hair, was dressed in running gear when found by a passing motorist who moved her off the road and called an ambulance.

She was found on the northern side of Tamaki Drive, about 50 metres east of the Ngapipi Rd bridge.

Ambulance officers and hospital staff have advised Police the woman may have had a seizure while out running as there are no injuries that would indicate she had been hit by a car.

She was wearing a short sleeved blue t-shirt, plain brown running shorts, and a cheap gold wristwatch. She had a house key and two $2 coins in her shorts pocket.
