1 min read

A post mortem examination has confirmed a woman found in a car in the Auckland suburb of New Lynn died from an injury to the head.

The body of the 54 year old Chinese woman, who lives in New Zealand, was discovered in the car early on Sunday morning by a security guard. The car was in the Warehouse car park off Rata St. A homicide inquiry is now underway.

Waitakere Police are appealing for any sightings of a grey/gold Mitsubishi Eterna vehicle, registration AFS 413.

O/C CIB, Detective Senior Sgt John Sutton says, "It appears that the vehicle was in the car park for all of Saturday. This is a busy shopping complex, so some people may have seen the vehicle and the body would have been visible to anyone next to the car.

Anyone who has seen the vehicle should contact Henderson Police on 839 0664.

Police are conducting area inquiries with businesses and homes in the area. The ESR is completing a forensic examination of the vehicle and the Police Specialist Search Group has been called to do a search of the car park.
