Citibank scene safe

1 min read

The suspicious package found at the Citibank building in downtown Auckland was destroyed at 1.01pm by bomb disposal experts and the scene has since been declared safe.

Occupants of that and neighbouring buildings are allowed to return to their work places and shops. Roads were reopened at 1.20pm.

The package - a briefcase - did not contain a bomb or other explosive device.

Police thank the public and workers in the area for their co-operation.
