Escaped prisoner Shiels still at large

Brendan Joseph SHIELS aged 24 yrs, who escaped from Paparua Prison at about 11.15pm on Wednesday 17 August, is still at large.

He is considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public.

Sergeant Lew Corbett of Hornby Police, says that over night on 17/18 August a very distinctive vehicle was stolen from Yaldhurst, close by to Paparua Prison.

It is a 2005 silver Hyundai station wagon, registration CMA 148. It has the words Knobs and Knockers - architectural hardware written on the back. This vehicle has not yet been recovered. Anyone who sights it is asked to contact their nearest Police.

Shiels' description is Male Maori 80kgs, 174 cm in height and of thin build. He was wearing jeans cut off at the knees, no shirt and sneakers.
