Arrest in Hamilton homicide

1 min read

Hamilton Police investigating last week's fatal stabbing at a Melville address have made an arrest, charging a man with murder.

The arrest comes four days after witness interviews and an intensive scene examination commenced following the stabbing of Nigel Les McQueen, 46, at a Catalina Dr address on Friday afternoon.

Yesterday Hamilton Police located a person of interest to the inquiry at a house near the scene of the killing and he was taken into custody without incident.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page of the Hamilton CIB said the unemployed 43-year-old man will appear in the Hamilton District Court today charged with murder.

The arrested man is from Hamilton.

"The investigation is continuing while detectives finalise the sequence of events surrounding the death," said Mr Page.
