Porirua CIB has found and arrested escaped prisoner Albert Karl Lenin Stretch.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Fabish says 24-year-old Stretch, who escaped from the Wellington District Court cells on 28 November, was found at a Titahi Bay address at 1.45pm today.

"The Armed Offenders Squad was used to approach the house and Stretch was taken into custody without incident," Detective Sergeant Fabish says.

He will be appearing in the Porirua District Court tomorrow charged with escaping from custody.

Two women found in the house with him have also been charged with assisting him and with cultivation of cannabis.
