Police is hosting five free family violence seminars around New Zealand this month.
Three international presenters, Professor Betsy Stanko from the United Kingdom, and Gael Strack and Dr George McClane from San Diego will speak at the seminars.
These speakers are world-class experts in the field of domestic violence. They offer the opportunity for seminar attendees to consider some progressive concepts to address family violence across a range of areas including collaborative approaches, death reviews, domestic violence legislation, prosecutions and use of medical expertise, topics around strangulation and domestic violence, stalking and teenage dating violence.
Seminar attendees will include police, health providers, family violence community partners, victim and child advocacy, family violence law reform and strategy and policy development professionals.
