Body of missing Korean student found in bush

North Shore Police have confirmed that the partially decomposed body found in bush, close to Albany Highway in Glenfield, is that of missing Korean student Jack MA.

Jack MA went missing from his family home in Unsworth Heights in unexplained circumstances on 12 June 2006. Since then Police have made numerous inquiries throughout the Auckland region and New Zealand to determine his whereabouts.

The body of 23 year old Jack MA has been forensically identified. A post mortem examination has been concluded and Police are now awaiting toxicology results which will take some weeks. The MA family have been informed of the findings.

The locality where the body was found was about 150 metres from the main road.

The family request that all media respect their wishes for complete privacy.

This matter is now referred to the Coroner.
