Police investigating suspicious fire at Kaikoura Fisheries offices

Marlborough Police are today investigating a suspicious fire at the Ministry of Fisheries offices in Kaikoura overnight.

Police were called to the fire about 2.30am today at the newly-opened offices. Two offices were badly damaged by the fire.

Sergeant Barry Hansen of Kaikoura Police said Police dogs tracked a scent to a nearby address and two men were arrested and charged with arson.

The CIB is conducting a scene investigation today.
