Driver and witnesses sought to Otara hit and run

Counties Manukau Police are looking for the driver of a dark coloured Subaru who hit a pedestrian on East Tamaki road in Otara at about 10:30pm last night (Tuesday).

A 23 year-old male pedestrian was struck by the vehicle as he was crossing East Tamaki road after leaving a residence.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.

The driver of the Subaru fled from the scene and is yet to be located.

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses and for the driver to come forward.
