A 46 year-old nurse and mother of two has been in Auckland Hospital in critical condition and on a life-support machine since September 10 - the day after the Rugby World Cup Tournament kicked off.
The woman was on a bicycle when she collided with a west-bound black Nissan four wheel drive vehicle at the intersection of Quay Street and the Strand in Parnell on the Saturday morning, just before 9.30.
The Nissan was towing a large empty trailer at the time of the crash. The cyclist was also westbound at the time.
The Police Serious Crash Unit has been investigating the incident and, as a result of information from the public, has identified a vehicle whose driver Police would urgently like to speak to.
"A black or dark-coloured BMW is reported to have stopped at the scene but left prior to Police arriving," says Constable Mark Rodgers.
"This BMW may have been a convertible with its soft top down at the time. We urgently want to speak to the driver or occupants of this vehicle."
