Auckland City Police have launched a homicide investigation into the death of two year-old James Joseph Ruhe Lawrence of Takitimu St, Orakei.
James died in his home yesterday morning and a post-mortem examination was conducted today, the results of which cannot be made public at this stage.
Police are carrying out a scene examination at his home address and have been speaking with residents of the home since being called to the property by ambulance officers yesterday morning at about 11am.
