West Auckland Police are at Titirangi Beach where a full scale search is being carried out in dense coastal bush for a 39 year old female who is missing from her Mahoe Street home.

More than 30 Police, Civilian and Air Force personnel are involved. Police dogs have also been deployed earlier today.

The full resources of the Henderson CIB are investigating the woman's disappearance and police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety.

The missing woman has been identified as:

WILSON / Belinda Michelle

Female - Caucasian

DOB 25/8/1968 - Age 39 years

Height - 1.77 metres - medium to solid build

Pale complexion - wears heavy makeup

Beneficiary

Resident of Titirangi - well known identity in area.

Description - WILSON has shoulder length brown hair - her current clothing is unknown but she has recently been seen wearing a long black dress with a half metre rip in the back. She regularly wears a wide rimmed sun visor and always has a black trundler carry bag on wheels in her possession.

Detective Sergeant Sean HYLAND-MILLS says WILSON was seen on Wednesday 2 January 2008. She walked from her home in Mahoe Road to a local dairy in Scenic Road Titirangi. She was in the shop at about 10.15am and made two purchases. She has since disappeared

Mr. HYLAND-MILLS says WILSON'S mother reported her missing to Police on Thursday 3 January 2008.

Police are investigating several sightings of the missing woman including one on Friday 4 January 2008. This was at the Super Value Supermarket in Titirangi where WILSON was shopping in the store.

"WILSON has some minor mental health issues and this could be a factor in her unexplained disappearance. She has not contacted her mother or other relatives in the past six days and her bank account has not been touched."

"Residents living in Titirangi know this woman," he said.

"We're keeping an open mind about her disappearance. This enquiry is one of a missing person. We hope the public can help us find her."
