Sightings sought of missing Wellington man

1 min read

Wellington Police are appealing to the public for help in finding Brent Colin Young who was last seen two days ago in the Riddiford Street area of Newtown.

Detective Sergeant Donna Howard, Wellington CIB, said Mr Young's family, friends and police are concerned for his wellbeing as he has been upset and had some health issues this week.

The last known contact was on Tuesday afternoon when he arranged by cellphone to meet a friend at Newtown McDonalds, and failed to turn up.

Mr Young, a European, is described as: 170cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair, blue eyes and facial stubble/goatee. He had a recent cut on his chin which had been stitched.

He was last seen wearing: a green jacket - similar to those worn by park rangers/outdoors staff, a navy blue and white striped polo shirt, black tee shirt with neon print, tan/khaki summer weight cargo pants, and black fabric Chuck Taylor shoes with a white sole.

"It's unusual for him not to be in touch with friends or respond to calls on his cellphone," Detective Sergeant Howard said. "We're concerned that he's disoriented and perhaps hurt himself.

"It's also possible Mr Young wants to have a bit of time out. If that's the case then we'd like to hear from him to know that he's okay."

Mr Young had until recently been living in the Paekakariki area. He has little money and his bank accounts haven't been touched since Monday.

If anyone has seen Mr Young or knows where he might be, then contact Wellington Police CIB on : 0800 Tip Off (0800 847 633).
