1 min read

In February 2003 a Korean male tourist Jae Hyeon KIM, arrived in New Zealand for a backpacking holiday. He was due to depart in December of that year and failed to do so. He was reported missing by his family in May 2004 and has not been heard of since.

Nelson Police in conjunction with the Missing Persons Unit in Wellington are re-examining the missing person enquiry file. This is a routine event that occurs annually when a person has not been located.

Kim's last known address was Alan's Backpackers, Westbrook Terrace, Nelson and he left these premises on the 8th September 2003.

He is described as being 183cm tall of thin build and was 25 years old at the time

Police are interested in any information from the Public who may have had contact with Mr Kim in the Nelson area about this time

Anyone with information on his whereabouts, or who may have had contact with him in New Zealand during 2003, is asked to contact the Nelson Police.
