A teenage girl in Papanui woke just after midnight to find an unknown man in her bedroom this morning.
Papanui Police are investigating the incident where the teenager found the unknown male intruder shortly after midnight on Thursday 3 July, following the State of Origin Rugby League final.
The young woman was obviously shaken during the incident when she was physically assaulted by the man.
She describes him as a skinny built, European male wearing a hooded top.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Fabish says the attack is particularly concerning given the circumstances.
