Lower Hutt Police use webpage to find property owners

1 min read

Lower Hutt Police are hoping a special webpage will help them return hundreds of recovered property to owners.

Constable Hamish Macdonald, Crime and Crash Team, Lower Hutt Police, said more than $100,000 of property has already been returned to owners. The property was seized from an Epuni address during a search warrant last December and police still have a huge number of items filling up their exhibits store.

The items include homeware, electronic goods including gaming equipment and DVD recorders, building tools and outdoor equipment, telephones and clothing.

A page on the police internet site has been set up for owners to visit, identify property they believe to be theirs, and click in the online inquiry form which will be sent to police for follow up.
