Woman's bite worse than dog's bark

1 min read

In a bizarre behavioural twist Hamilton Police found a dog owner's bite was worse that the animal's bark.

Officers were called to an Avalon Dr address shortly before 6pm to assist Hamilton City Council Dog Control Officers who had a warrant to seize three dogs.

The 26-year-old female owner had other ideas however and refused to give up the animals. Once they were secured the woman then jumped into the back of the Dog Control vehicle and, refusing to get out, was duly arrested.

With one staff member already pushed a second officer got more than he bargained for when the woman tried several times to bite him on the way back to the Hamilton Central Police Station.

The woman faces a variety of disorder and assault charges.
