Korean Pedestrian Dies From Injuries

North Shore Police say a Korean national who was struck while crossing Sunset Road, on the North Shore on Saturday at noon, has died in hospital, from his injuries.

The deceased man has been identified as:

Mr. James CHO

Aged 49 years

South Korea

Mr. CHO was on a visit to New Zealand.

He had been staying with friends on the North Shore.

Mr. CHO was out walking when a rain shower is believed to have caused him to try and seek shelter. While attempting to cross the road the deceased has been struck by vehicles traveling in both directions.

Investigations by the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit continue.

The incident has been referred to the Coroner.
