Motel scene of drug arrests

1 min read

Auckland Metro Crime and Operations Support (AMCOS) Drug Squad arrested six people today after terminating part of an investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Part of a city motel - The Jacaranda on Manukau Rd in Newmarket - has been closed down and is being processed by the specialist Clan Lab team in order to make the scene safe for Police to search.

The six men, aged between 28 and 47, were arrested in the very early hours of this morning and will appear in the Auckland District Court today on a range of methamphetamine manufacturing and supply charges.

The Police investigation relating to this alleged methamphetamine operation is ongoing and is likely to take several days to complete.

The operation involves other Auckland regional locations but officers are reluctant to be more specific on those at this stage, for staff safety and investigative integrity reasons.
