Aggravated robbery in Whangarei last night

Police are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Whangarei last night.

About 10.50pm a man entered the Pizza Hut store on Bank Street and presented a knife at a male staff member. The offender then went into an office at the back of the premises and grabbed some cash from a female staff member.

He then ran off and was last seen heading on foot along Bank Street towards Whangarei’s CBD.
The staff members were shaken by the incident, but not injured.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity near the Pizza Hut or witnessed the robbery and offender entering or leaving the premises.
