A Police presence is currently at Kennedy Point, Waiheke.

A number of demonstrators have been present today opposing marina development activity at the site.

There has been ongoing issues for an extended period of time between demonstrators and developers at the marina site.

Police have been monitoring the ongoing situation to ensure the safety of everyone involved and our duty is to prevent any breach of the peace.

Police recognise the lawful right to protest, however we also recognise the right of people to go about their lawful business.

Police have arrested three people today in relation to trespass.

Police were advised a short time ago that the developers have completed work for today and Police are slowly removing the number of staff present as we continue to monitor the situation.
