Rodney Police have arrested a fifth person, as they investigate an alleged assault on a 19-year-old woman who was found unconscious on the side of a road in Dome Valley on the 9 May 2016.
The 33-year-old male has been charged with kidnapping and has appeared in the North Shore District Court.
Police are not ruling out the possibility of further arrests as the enquiry unfolds.
The victim remains in Auckland Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
As the matter is now before the courts no further comment will be made.
