New Zealand Police’s Special Tactics Group will be conducting a controlled training exercise at a property on Greys Avenue in Auckland this week.
Police staff will be in the area from today and the training will run between the hours of 10am to 8pm.
The training will include the use of small controlled explosives, however Police want to reassure residents and people in the area who may hear loud noises, not to be alarmed.
“We want to reiterate this is part of a controlled, routine training exercise and is not an emergency event."
The majority of the training will be done inside a series of buildings that have been earmarked for demolition.
