One man is dead and another is in Police custody after an altercation at a Burnley Terrace, Mt Eden address this evening. Police were called to the address at about 6.25pm where they discovered the deceased and a man who has since been arrested. He will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will likely face more serious charges in future.
The scene has been secured and will be forensically examined tomorrow. The deceased man has not been identified but it's thought he was not a resident at the address. A post-mortem examination of his body will be held on Thursday.
No further information is available until after 9am tomorrow.
